We’re excited to share the news that Brian Trucksess has just joined Dougherty Group Real Estate as our newest agent. We’ve asked Brian a few questions below, to help you get to know a bit about him and how he got involved with the team.
Can you tell me a bit about your background? How did you decide to get started in the real estate business?
I was born and raised in Collingswood, NJ, and lived in North Wilmington, DE for the last nine years. I held a Real Estate License in the mid 1980s, and sold real estate for a few years until I got into the printing industry. I came up through the printing industry and ended up being a salesperson in that industry for the last 25 years.
How did you end up deciding to work with Stephen Dougherty?
I worked with Stephen when he was in the printing industry. We worked together for about 3-4 years. He was always very thorough and we always got along. We’ve stayed in touch over the last 4 years and I was always intrigued at the thought of getting back into real estate.
What excites you most about getting back into the real estate business?
Now that I’m older I have sales experience that will easily lend itself to the real estate industry. It also is an industry where it is difficult to age out of.
If you could give a tip to someone just starting out on their own real estate journey – whether it’s buying or selling their first home – what would it be?
Just know that it is an emotional and somewhat stressful journey, even in the best cases. Who you work with matters. You need to work with people who are helping you manage your expectations, emotions etc. Its a busy 45 days. A lot of things get packed into that time frame.
What are you most looking forward to about working with clients?
I look forward to meeting new people but most of all I look forward to helping them navigate these transactions so they can focus on the move.
What’s your favorite Philly neighborhood, and why?
Right now i would have to say Fishtown. It’s full of activity: building construction, lively restaurant scene, neighborhoods being revitalized.
What are some of your favorite things about Philly – restaurants, things to do, places to visit, etc.?
I like walking through Old City and getting to know where all the good eating spots are!
Walk me through what you envision a typical day will look like for you when it comes to working with clients? What kind of experience can they expect from working with you?
I think overall my clients can expect someone who cares about what they are trying to accomplish. They should know that when they sign on with the Dougherty Group they are getting the best customer service and knowledge in the business!
